You should be fine on dipped beam, it's main beam where the problem lies:

On the 2013, you'll get 55 watts per side on dipped beam and 60 watts on main beam.

On the 2012 and earlier, you'll get 55 watts per side on dipped beam and 55+60=115 watts on main beam.

Not a problem in town or on busy roads, but a disaster for dark country road driving.

Thanks for the info Tigger, I wasnt aware of that.
I'll also be getting an alignment check tomorrow as a precaution as the lamp direction seems low to me.

As an aside, I had 15MPG fuel consumption yesterday at 10am on the new engine which is now up to 23MPG with careful driving so I hope it will keep going up to get somewhere near the 40MPG advertised. I'll be happy with 35MPG

Fair call np (however it's a busy pub with music on and you're speaking to someone who is hard of hearing) Razz

PS: Could you choose a more friendly colour to highlight other than red?

Without appearing too stupid. How is a car delivered in 2012 referred to as a my13?

It's traditional for the next year's model to be launched just after the factory summer shut down. It's often used as a time to re-tool and gives the dealer's gives them something to talk about on the run up to Christmas!

Natwest: Yes, I was a bit shocked by that too.

I'll try to explain!
It is used to define change points within the model line's life, it is not a mandatory requirement for all markets but does make life a lot easier when trying to establish the age of a particular car.
The other slightly confusing thing is that a model year is not an actual year, it can last for up to two years as long as it has one 1st January. On Land Rovers it is the 10th character of the VIN. The life span is defined and controlled by the manufacturer

It's also of particular use for resale - e.g. when a seller puts 11MY trim and features on a 08MY car - helps you to spot a fake Laughing

If its made this year, then it's not a next year model. MY is the manufacturing year, it was manufactured 2012. Simples. Laughing

sounds like we should just stick with our current cars lol, 20k more for a new dash and poor headlights which look good no thanks lr Razz When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

I like the interior upgrade but still wonder why LR didnt go the full hog on the FL2's final fling.

I mean why couldnt they have installed a centre armest / cubby hole like in every other LR/RR? And why is there only 1 cupholder now? I have one of those ashtray cupholders that I keep my change in so that holder would be filled up straight away. It would also have been nice to see digital displays on the heater control knobs like on the RRS

Also concerned with the new headlamp arrangement, why they simply couldnt have put DRL's where the current side light is located and kept the indicator slightly lower is beyond me

Still when im up for change in 15 months time I will seriously have to consider my options, an SD4 HSE is gonna be over £40K and I still have to give LR another £150 for a spoiler. Not too sure what my other options will be though yet!

Shilen - Have added a few more pics in my gallery of the centre console to show the additional upholders which wasn't very clear from my first pics.

When the centre console cover is in the closed position there is only one cup holder visible however if you open the console cover there is another cupholder and a smaller circular holder for something else smaller than the average cup...

Behind those is the USB drive, Aux audio in, and second cigarette socket.
