New FL2 2013 MY arrived today

Well, Its finally here. My FL2 2013 MY XS auto arrived today and there are a lot of nice changes compared to my old 2010 GS FL2.

Couple of points I like myself over my previous FL2.

1, i Just love the LED driving lights as they really are great in identifying the new model and make the car stand out
2, The centre console is a much nicer layout and the audio if fantastic with the Meridian setup
3, Glad the handbrake has now gone which makes a much nicer layout with more storage space.
4, Car is significantly quieter and much smoother.
5, Bluetooth is fantastic allowing me to play all my media from my iphone with control of track, album etc etc from the steering wheel controls.
6, Satnav is very responsive now its on the hard drive.

Have added pics to my gallery

Top work, very nice indeed.
Can you confirm if the high level brake light is still as is, or is this too LED.

Enjoy Thumbs Up

That looks great & thanks for the comments. Hopefully I will be looking at changing my car beginning of next year & FL2.5 is looking appealing.

Looks very nice , the centre console looks so much better, think you need a rear spoiler though just to Finnish her off, nice wheels too. Thumbs Up

Very nice and LEDs do stand out.

Make sure you read the hand book and learn how to release the park brake manually. It came in useful when I had my D3 A Land Rover owner since 1988

From a 1974 series III to a 12MY XS FL2 with help of a 1995 D1, 1996 D1, 2005 D3, 2007 D3 and a 2009 FL2.

It looks very nice but, as I've yet to get to see one up close, please would you confirm:

1. Does it still have twin reversing and twin rear fog lamps?

2. Has it lost the twin optic (separate dipped and main beam) headlamps to make way for the day running lights?

Sorry to sound light obsessed, but I live in rural Cornwall (very dark at night) and these things become very important!

Thanks in advance.

Great car! I have the 2011 model and is it possible to get some The new headlights and brake lights? If it is possible where could I get them?

Hi Tigger,

1, Confirmed - the new model has twin reversing /fog lamps

2, The dipped and main beams are now indeed coming from the same unit.

My LEDs were a build option at £230 and to me at least the dipped beam is very very low in the road compared to my previous FL2 even when adjusted to max height on the dashboard control.I will be getting them checked tomorrow to be on the safe side I think...

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's not just a case of plugging the new lamps in as the electrical architecture changed at 13MY so a straight swap of lamps isn't going to be a 5 minute job Neutral Good luck!

Thanks for that. It's good to see that they've retained the twin reversing and fog lamps, but I didn't realise (until now) that the LED DRL's were a cost option.

The move to single optic headlamps is a extremely bad news for customers like me Sad

I've not owned a vehicle with single optic headlamps since my last Montego in 1995 and I won't go back to them, especially at premium car prices. Unfortunately, Land Rover won't let us specify Xenons short of XS trim and with the recent price increases, this is almost certain to push it over budget next time Sad This has me worried that I may have to look elsewhere next time.

You've got me thinking now...

Are the single optic main / dipped beam I have on the 2013 MY not as bright as dual optic headlamp cluster on previous versions?
