[SOLVED!] NEW OWNER OF A LR2 - PLEASE STILL NEED A HELP

Hi everybody! Thanks for the opportunity, congratulations to the Forum.

I have a FL2 HSE i6 since august. I believe already have purchased the car with faults. The fuel gauge is "crazy" sometimes, I believe, works fine and suddenly shows empty with warning light. When shows empty the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on. But when refuel the tank, even with incorrect gauge position, the light turns off after a few hours.

My mechanic have a small diagnostic car computer, AUTEL S509. We decided to check what was wrong with my FL2. So, hereīs the result of the check in order of appearance:

Fuel Sensor B Circuit - P2065
Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit High - P0004
Fuel Shutoff Valve a Control Circuit Open - P0005
Fuel Shutoff Valve a Control Circuit Open Low - P0006

According to the result we think itīs the FUEL SENDER (part #LR003883). But I want to make sure with the help of friends of the forum so I can get the correct part.

Here in my town donīt have a LAND ROVER dealer only garage mechanics 4x4 specialists.
Thank You very much for any HELP. Itīs only my first SUV. Neutral

Hello chicken george! Thanks for the reply. Here in Brazil the FL2 diesel (named SD4) only arrived in late 2011. The most of FL2 still i6 petrol engine.

Anyway, thanks for the info. Smile

there are two fuel gauges - it's a saddle tank design. Either one can give trouble, you can check the external connections under the rear seat - large rubber bung covers connection.

If you are going to change one, then change both because the fault is intermittant. They are a right Censored to change as the tank has to come out. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Hello Andy131! Thank you very much. You helped me so much. Yes, I'll replace just one for a moment. But if the fault comes again then I'll buy another fuel pump. I'll check the connections, wires too as you said.
I'll back with veredict. Thanks again. Bye. Smile
