I hade a great time on my new Dunlop SP Winter Sport M2 (235/65 R17). No chains , just plain tyres.
No problems at all ( because I drove with the brain ), downhill on the slippery road I pressed the brake pedal very lightly not so hard to engage the ABS and managed the turns (some almost 360 degrees) as a pro and not too fast. I had control. I was trained in winter 40 years ago without ABS.

Offroad, however, reduction-gear was missed. The engine stalled, and stalled when I tried to get out of the holes I digged in the loose snow, but that was the only problem. I had a great time on road and off road. LR Freelander2 2,2 Td4 HSE manuel Stornaway Grey (Metallic) & Ebony Black Leather & Sun/Moon-roof & Bi-Xenon & Roof Rails & Tow bar & Body side rubbing strips & Cold climate pack & Privacy glass & NavTeq . Did you switch off the DSC when you were stuck - it helps to disable it as the DSC will cut the engine power automatically when you most need it. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack
Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover
Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather
Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen

You should also disable DSC before you go into sand and deep mud for the same reason.

Looking at the UK weather forecast for the end of next week it looks like some of the British guys will get to play in some snow....................................... How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

On snow again

Heavy snowfall in the mountain. No problems for the Freel2, but it was difficult to see the "road" in all that snow.

When I was snowboarding in chamonix this year, We had a big dump of snow, and I noticed lots of the locals had lifted their rear wipers up

The ones that hadn't bothered had a wiper supporting a rear window of snow and some had buckled under the weight, Laughing

Any need to do this with the FL2 Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It`s a good idea to lift the wipers to avoid them to freeze to the glass. Usually I put a newspaper between the wipers and the window, but this snowfall was a surprise.

Lifted wipers can be an invitation for the bad boys to bend them and you will Big Cry LR Freelander2 2,2 Td4 HSE manuel Stornaway Grey (Metallic) & Ebony Black Leather & Sun/Moon-roof & Bi-Xenon & Roof Rails & Tow bar & Body side rubbing strips & Cold climate pack & Privacy glass & NavTeq .
