2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Zermatt Silver

Help with message in Speedo display

Hello,

Had to move the FL2 off the drive way this morning before rushing to the staff and I noticed something flash up on the speedo below the mileage - looked like Srs. Did have time to check the manula but can someone confirm this is telling me that I need a service ?

If it is I have a nice day in front as we only picked the car up form the stealers 3weeks ago (ex-demo car) and I feel an aggressive phone call could be on the cards - because I am not paying it if it does need a service.

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Hi Dannyboy,

If memory serves me correctly I think 'SRS' is to do with Airbags. On my current Mercedes it lights up everytime I start it as if it is checking them. Cant check on my Freelander because it is being built today!!! ( Fri afternoon model = half finished Fl2 )

Anybody else confirm this

SRS is the airbags and seat belt tensioners checking themselves,

Safety Restraint System

I previousley asked my dealer and he said only worry if it stays on perminantly with the red airbag light. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

phew !! thanks for clearing that up. Well actually the dealer should be thanking you all because you saved him from me tearing a strip out of him for selling me a car due a service.

I should read the manual really but I am a bloke - its not in our make up.

2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Indus Silver

Mine pops up with SRS now and then . I thought it would check the system everytime the car was started, but perhaps I'm wrong. Will check with the dealer when it goes in for its first service. ______________________
