On the subject of Dynamic Plus, I'm Torn between:

SD4 Dynamic Plus with
- Cold climate pack,
- Heated steering wheel and
- Met paint

SD4 HSE with
- Sawtooth alloys
- Met paint
- Rear spoiler

About £400 in the HSE's favour... and then I need to choose a colour!

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Ground clearance with the Dynamic is going to be less than the HSE

That's easy; at that price it would have to be a D4! Wink

If it needs to be an FL2, it would have to be the HSE, it gets rid of the 70's American car vinyl seat look and retains the rib at the bottom the the doors that keeps the sides clear of mud and seems to have become a Land Rover signature.

Not that I'm aware of (approach angle yes). Why do you think so?

Front spoiler looks as though it sits slightly lower than it does on the other models but not had two side by side to measure them exactly so can only go on a visual perception.

Heights are the same and 13MY is unchanged from 11MY. If they are different someone is due a Censored kicking at work on Monday Cool

2013 Dynamic has similar spoilers to the old Sports styling pack which as far as I'm aware was lower than a standard vehicle. As I said it's only a perception and I may be wrong but I do know that a batch of cars destined for LR Experience were not delivered as they were Dynamic's.

Dug a bit further and it would appear that Approach and Departure Angles are affected by the body styling kit but the ground clearance is not - at least not according to the manual.

Approach angle with body kit is 23 degress and without it is 31 degrees.
Departure angle with body kit is 29 degrees and without it is 34.

It certainly looks lower, in practice it's just a big piece of plastic at the same height but decreases the ramp angle considerably.
I imagine this was the reason, the LR courses, all different, are carefully designed to have the same maximum ramp angles, most of the course will be natural terrain but look closely at the extremities and they are made of concrete to keep the angle the same.

I remember years ago when the G wagen came out, Mercedes created a carefully constructed course in a local field, the "elephants feet" type obstacle was designed for the G wagen, loads of early discos and defenders came a cropper, designed for exactly that purpose.

Given the choice though, I would have the extra spoiler, it's unlikely I would need the extra ramp angle.
Have an LRE day in a couple of weeks in an Evoque, will have a look and see if the new FL IS there, hav a pare voucher so may try that next.
