One the contractors I use at work has just purchased two 12 month old Lexus RX400's for himself and his co-director, and while I don't doubt the good customer relations and maybe the reliability of them it wasn't for me.

Interesting point. My MD has an 11 Plate RX400H and has been plagued by telematic/electrical problems from day 1. Whilst the service received from Lexus has been exemplary to date, he has very little faith in the vehicle, and usually uses his wife's Q5 when he travels. I guess that there's good and bad in all, but I would prefer a vehicle that wasn't unreliable over tea out of a china cup all day long! Foraging near Gaydon.... 覧覧覧覧覧覧覧 MY13 HSE Lux SD4, Baltic Blue - current, 30,000> miles without fault MY12 HSE 2.2 SD4, Sumatra Black - gone after 10 months/43,000 fault-free miles |

IIRC my dads RX450h had one issue, can't remember what it was, but the dealer manager drove from sheffield to Leeds and dropped his car off whilst they fixed it, a week or two later the same issue showed again, same thing offered again, but this time my dad dropped it off and there was a man from Lexus headoffice there to investigate, thinking about it i think it was to do with the Lexus towbar electrics communicating with the car

Tough call, but I think you should take the missus to Audi (Q5), Volvo (XC60) and BMW (X3) to put a few more irons in the fire!!

Going back to the original post, I was reading today that the car may have a substantially harder ride than the extremely smooth ride in the Freelander, without any particular benefit to handling. |

Shilen made a very valid point on another thread; if you're tempted by the real deal, don't wait until the snow arrives before trying to buy one.... |

I can vouch for Roger Young in Saltash in Cornwall, just outside Plymouth, though that may be a bit too far south!

On their database the most reliable car in the uk is the Kia Picanto which scores 3 (lowest no. the better)
