2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Zermatt Silver

Nice one Andy!!, keep up the good work!, while I have a tyre guy here, I hope I can ask some questions : )

First off.. the grabber snow tyre.. as the pattern is not symmetrical down the centre line of the tire, does that mean you need a "mirrored" tyre on the other side of the car, or is it always the same tread on both sides of the car?

Secondly.. Do you have any of the following in stock? it would be interesting to see how they compare with swedish ones! : )

Nokian Hakkapeliitta R - 7,5 poeng
Continental ContiViking Contact 5 - 7,5 poeng
Dunlop SP Ice Sport - 7,4 poeng
Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice - 7,4 poeng
Michelin X-Ice XI3 - 7,3 poeng
Vredestein Nordtrac 2 - 7,3 poeng
Pirelli Icecontrol Winter - 7,1 poeng
Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 - 6,9 poeng
Cordiant Winter Drive - 6,4 poeng

(this is the list of norways leading winter tyres with no studs!)
P.S What a steal for fitting... we pay around 25-30 quid a corner for fitting here!

The Snow Grabber is an Assymetric, outside to outside and inside to inside.

We don't stock any of these tyres you have listed. Andy.

if outside to outside and inside to inside... am I right in thinking that the tread pattern will be reverse in rotation from one side of the car from the other?

That's right. See the Avon Ranger Ice in my gallery. The "patented snow groove" (whatever that is Laughing ) is the outside of the three grooves. The tread pattern is in a zig-zag, so it can rotate either way round without having a negative effect on grip. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I think there's some confusion here and if I'm wrong, even more confusion Laughing

Assymetrical tyres have an outside and an inside but can be fitted on any side and any wheel, they just need to be the right way around and are usually marked on the sidewall, so you buy four for any wheel.

Assymetrical tyres also can be directional, these have an outside and inside but also have a left and right side, so you buy two for the left of the car and two for the right.

Sorry no.

Very few tyres are handed left and right, only one that springs to mind is the Mecedes CLK Black Edition and you would not want to buy many of them.

Assmetric tyres have to be fitted outside to outside and so on.

If you look at the Vredestein Sessanta that will confuse you. Mr. Green Andy.
