Well I just look to have wasted an evening

Just looked at the photo above on my iPhone and they are washed out, lack colours that were showing on the LCD tv connected to my Mac mini and just look bland now Sad

is it my tv or my iPhone that's giving the wrong colour Confused Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Don't get disheartened Nick, they're good shots.
The screen on the camera shows you an embedded jpeg, the shot you download is a raw file, which by its very nature will be flat and unsharp, remember how your screen looked vastly superior to mine.
When you download the RAW file you need to get into the habit of a workflow.
I have a book on Photoshop CS5 by Scott Kelby, it is very easy to follow and has never failed me if I want to do something.
We where side by side, your shots will be very similar to mine, one difference will be the lens, mine in theory, should give more contrast and richer colours, saying that yours are good, the colours just need lifting a little or simply try the contrast.

The colours were fine when editing on my Mac mini, just annoyed that they are flat now looking on another screen, I guess my settings on the TV my Mac connected too give a wrong look

Take the hardknot pass one, it's nearly lost all the orange of the sun setting, on my tv I thought it might have too
Much orange, glad i didn't alter it Shocked Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Laughing Laughing You will have to come over soon, bring the family, we will spend a couple of hours with CS5.

Do you remember that BMW M5, I wonder if we spoilt his fun, he must have come down Honister Pass seeing a white FL2 with a tripod at the back and come down slowly Rolling with laughter

Here is Nick taking some of those shots, he put a lot of hard work in and hopefully learned something from the weekend. Most people will just stand on the shoreline instead of thinking a little bit differently.

I will have to have a look at that tripod, the photos taken with the 12-24 lens i could see the bar sticking out the front of it

I enjoyed myself, picked up some tips along the way, i've taken my set down till i can edit them all correctly and work out my CS5, I have a book on loan from the library for CS4, but its mind boggling Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
