From the time I used to spend trying to fix rust on old motors, that looks just like the result of resulting from inside out, which I haven't seen in a car so young since I last had a Montego!

If they are planning on filling and respraying, it should be back within 3 months. The only cure here is a to cut out the section and weld (which really isn't practical) or simply replace the bonnet.

I'd check the bonnet over with a magnet when they've finished to see if they've used body filler. Oh, it's just like the old days of bodging sills on Morris 1100's!

All sorted now, from what I can tell its a good job, bonet has been painted both sides, colour match is very good and no signs of where the rust was.
