Hdc and srs possible fault

Hi
Couple of questions
When starting car it says hdc fault, then disappears and no other warning lights, seems to be only in cold weather, wondering if its low voltage?
Other one is srs, when turning on the ignition under the total miles srs flashes up where the daily miles are, does disappear straight away not sure if fault
Regards
Ps what should I be paying for a non dealer service 70000 miles? Been quoted £140 all in?? Regards
J Jenkinson

The HDC fault is quite common, especially in the very cold weather. Try giving your battery a good charge.

Like Wizking says, pretty common cold weather low voltage thing. It can also be an early warning of new battery time. I fitted a big new battery and the problem went away.

As far as the service cost is concerned, I guess you have been quoted for a "small" service which is oil, oil filter and pollen filter plus a check of all the other stuff. £170 is not bad but it is much cheaper to do it yourself! John

I had this intermittant fault when after a while the light stayed on. On taking it to landrover they said that there was a fault in the ABS unit.
The fault was put down to a presure switch in the ABS modulator so the whole unit had to be replaced at a total cost of £800.
Was not impressed as car was just out of warranty with only 21,000 miles on the clock.
Did however managed to get a 33% controbution. Still a crap deal but better than noting. Its been fine ever since, battery was fine.

my HDC use to flash up disabled on starting along with SRS air bag warning much worse in cold weather and after 3 years of enduring it Landrover finally diagnosed a bad earth cable !
Since its been replaced I have never had HDC flash up even at -6 degrees !

I have mentioned many times before as i reckon bit of a design fault with the earth cable shrunk wrapped ( traps moisture and or flux in the cable causing corrosion ) My cable was totally rotten from end to end !!!!!!!!!!!

This does light up when you first start the car as a test, but I'm assuming yours stays on Chris.

No mine doesn't stay on, just under the miles will say srs on start up then disappear bit not there every time on start up, anyway freelander had 3 fault codes come up which they cleared told me to drive for a week and then they would check again to see what was showing then, can't remember the faults buy will know later when I collect car, the warranty wouldn't stretch to a landrover dealer costs but the garage on Edinburgh have landrover diagnostics and a fraction of the price Regards

Have you found that your trip mileage resets itself at all?
