I have heard some bad reports about autoglass fitting lower quality windscreens a while ago. It may have been on this forum. They were using screens that aparently scratch & chip rather easily. I would insist on a genuine LandRover item & argue with the insurance company if necessary. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I had a screen replaced a few months back, by Autoglass.
Its not Land Rover branded but is an identical Pilkington screen in all other respects, I can understand people being concerned but for me its a piece of glass and after 4 years and over 100k miles I dont think it will matter that much, it may even have been changed again.

It's a good point about the heated windscreen, it's the sort of thing I would forget when I get Autoglass out but remember when I come to use it. 11 SD4 HSE Stornoway Grey / Black Windsor Leather

So... Autoglass guy came with a Pilkington branded windscreen. The heating elements look the same. The rear view mirror stays on. I guess it's all good. Just need to test the heaters work when I get a bit of frost on the glass. Thumbs Up 11 SD4 HSE Stornoway Grey / Black Windsor Leather

Mines an autoglass Pilkingtons replacement - been in 2 years this week. Noticed last week that there are two stipes down the passenger side that don't work.

Great I'm off work for a week after an op (piles! Big Cry ) so gave them a ring thinking that they could do it at home in the garage. Sorry sir you will have to bring it to us so we can check it, now at this point I could probably have used more (some) tact, as I might have metioned that it wouldn't take a genius to spot two stipes on condensation on the screen, the same screen that they replaced twice originally for the same fault.
Looks like a morning off next week so that a technician can verify (argue?) that the screen is faulty, then some poor sod can spend a few hours outside my works freezing his mits off replacing it at "thier convenience".

Got to admit they do say it is garanteed for the life of the vehicle - wonder if they might try to wriggle out saying it has been damaged? Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

No. Those side elements are aerials, not heaters!

[Edit]Looked it up this morning:

"The AM/FM antenna is etched onto the RH side window glass. The antenna has an amplifier located just above the window.
This amplifier will vary upon the entertainment and information system fitted to the vehicle. High line systems will have a
larger amplifier for diversity tuning.
The rear window incorporates 2 FM antennae and a VICS/TMC antenna etched onto the glass. The 2 FM antennae are used in
the diversity tuning system along with the respective antenna amplifiers.
The LH side window antenna is used for DAB band III signal reception."

Better tell my dealer this info well! I thought that part of the passenger side element on the window was missing as it was different to the drivers side and mentioned it to the dealer. They said they were all like that! No mention that they were aerials! Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey
