I think you just pull off the plastic surround and then get to it from there. It comes off quite easily.

Front or rear?
Rear should be a piece of cake.

Front ..... take off wheel, remove small wing liner insert by removing two screws that screw through lower section of bumper, then remove 2 plastic nuts against inner wing. loosen lower wing liner by unclipping it from the wheel arch and removing 1 front screw. pull wing liner back and you can see the front fog lamp. bulb holder is visible at the rear of the lamp.

The in my case get soldering iron out and use it to weld the plastic tabs back in place that hold it secure - son spotted a neighbour (geriatric ignorant git) reversing into my car but neighbour denys it. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Stupid Pigeon

A stupid pigeon has just done exactly this to mine... I think i bumped it whilst it was snacking on some road kill and its big ar Censored se must have pushed the fog lamp holder back Crying or Very sad

Andy, did you literally melt the plastic so it held in place? Is there any recomended resins or glues that could do the same job?

I'm looking to sort this at the weekend and not sure if I should be going out to get a new soldering iron (mine has long packed up) or some specialist glue!

There are plastic tabs that come from the bumper, these feed through slots in the fog lamp assembly, and are then melted to form a crown that will not pull back through. I just melted the tabs and joined them with the plastic that is part of the lamp - effectively plastic welding.

I suspect an epoxy would bond them together, but the tabs were now shorter than original, due to being snapped in the impact, so there was little to glue to.

If you are going to glue them it might be easier to take either the bumper (cover) off, or the complete wing liner, just for ease of access. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

My nearside front fog light was displaced by a thump from a pheasant, broke off 2 of its mountings behind the bumper, I refitted it using No Nails exterior grade adhesive, that was 3 years ago nearly and its been fine ever since.

All sorted thanks folks!

Managed to get some clever epoxy resin in from within the fog lamp hole without taking the bumper off. Solid as a rock now. Thumbs Up Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints
