England 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Santorini Black

Picked up the gleaming black beast this morning - very happy. First impressions of the sat nav are that it does take a little getting used to, but once you've got the hang of it, it's ok. Not quite as simple as a Tomtom, but the very fact it's built in is a massive plus point for me - no leads hanging about all over the place. Nothing more I need - not even a leather hood fashioned from an old belt CG.

The kids are already desperate to get off road. Think I'll keep my paintwork gleaming for at least a week before I mess it up Thumbs Up 08 Santorini Black HSE manual with DAB and privacy glass

Many thanks

Thanks for all the all the good info chaps.
I've got a rendezvous with the little beauty on Saturday. Will let you all know how I get on.
What your opinion on privacy glass? to have or have not? To escape criticism -- do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

I chose privacy as I'd only ordered solid paint I thought the money saved on metallic could go on privacy instead. Looks good to me on a black fl2 Cool (even though my mother said it looks like a hearse!)

Also with a baby on the way the shading will be a real bonus for us. As your calling yourself 'old timer' its quite likely you will be transporting grandchildren so maybe a good idea?.
I reckon some colours suit privacy others not so,why not look through the gallery on this forum and make your own mind up. Which colour fl2 are you thinking of ?

Go on come to the dark-side, the only true fl2 colour

Mater of personal taste really. I thought it just made the car look better. Certainly worth the extra cost. TD4 HSE Auto Caspian Blue

Big yes for privacy glass - good from a security point of view as well as keeping the sun off the kids. Mine's santorini black, black leather, black carpets, black windows. Looks a little like a drug dealers wagon, but v. cool for a family car to shift the kids around. Very Happy 08 Santorini Black HSE manual with DAB and privacy glass

Too much choice

Hello all; thanks chicken george for the photo, I must admit it does look good in black with the privacy glass and your right about the grandkids so if/when I take the plunge I think I will go with that.
Edh your tempting me with your spec, only I want the auto, so I don’t have to change gear. Leaves a hand free to use the mobile, program the Sat Nav eat my sandwiches etc….(only joking)
Now I’m really looking forward to that test drive. To escape criticism -- do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.

I thought you were going for a HSE, like I have??

Why do you need free hands to use the mobile? No, leave the mobile in your pocket, and let the car handle the in & outgoing phonecalls. It is equipped with bluetooth, you know. Very Happy 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic, Caspian Blue, Alpaca, Moon roof, Exclusive pack.
