Much improved bulbs!

I fitted my new bulbs today (please see the link below) and I can highly recommend them. They are H11 for MY11 onwards and the difference is noticeable. I was happy with the old one's until I drove home in the dark in heavy rain and I thought they were not bright enough. Very pleased with these Thumbs Up

As I've said before, I get very confused when the word "xenon" is included. So, are these actually xenon

I was thinking of changing my bulbs this year, not sure what to go for and do you change the high beam bulbs as well.
Mine are the H7s so if anyone can point me in the right direction as the last time I changed the bulbs (not this car) I couldn't see much difference, and it failed its MOT for head light beam alinement.

These aren't proper xenon lights, simply xenon bulbs. I have a xenon bulb in my maglite for example.

I didn't bother with main beam as they are hardly used and seemed ok anyway, then there's the extra cost of course. 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

I got some improved H7's hinchy. I found the standard bulbs very poor and got some Halfords Ultra Brilliance +120% and the difference was very noticeable indeed. It then had it's service at LR and they never mentioned any issues with the lights so I can only assume it would have passed an MOT.

The only thing to be aware of is that brighter lights make the sidelights look a dingy yellow colour. Kal-El followed my advice and bought these excellent sidelights: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-8-LED-501-T1...4311327513 LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I thought the lights on the FL were ok, (halogens) but when I got my Golf (xenons) I thought there was something wrong with the FL the next time I drove it! I'll be ticking the xenons option on any other new car I get now! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Kal-El & Doctor....did fitting these LED Sidelights throw up any Dashboard/Canbus errors at all?

I have Xenon Headlamps fitted to my FL2, but would agree that the sidelights resemble yellow candles when all the lights are on. Foraging near Gaydon....

Badger1970. They caused no problems at all. When you fit them it is 50:50 as to them working or not. By that I mean they will only work when inserted one way around so if they don't work, take them out and turn them over.

Hope that makes sense. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

My LED sidelights look ace, I always hated the look of yellow side lights alongside xenons (yes I ticked that box on the option list Razz ) The LED's look great in daylight (great for DRL's!!) I will post a pic if i get chance! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Xenons will become standard very soon on all cars as Halogen is now over the original bulbs, Xenons will no doubt be superceded by LED and then those by something else.
Windscreens will have built in night vision so even if its night looking through them will make it look as though its daylight outside then all you need on the car is something for pedestrians to see you by in the form of exterior headlighting

Was looking for some led sidelights as they look terrible in yellow next to the xenons.

Ordering now, thanks.

Much better dipped beam though and the side lights are way whiter.
