United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver
New Member ( hello)

Can I say hello just joined your forum.. 1st October 12... bought my freelander 2 GS on 09 plate Smile traded in old faithfull defender ( had it ten years ) really hard to let go of the old girl a brilliant work horse unrivaled 4x4.. but decided needed something that didnt leak and freeze my ***** off this winter. Going a bit soft in old age.. Don't do the heavy off road stuff or towing any more.. wanted something with bad weather ablity cause I live in rural area and the new fl2 landy seems to tick all the right boxes. So the tool box, heavy duty tow rope, shovel and all the other paraphanailia that I've been lugging round for years has been dumped in the garage. The GS is really comfortable and handles superbly on the road. light years above the defender.. ( Not quite sure how all the fancy dials work yet, Confused ) Looking forward to keeping up to date on your forum.. Very Happy lucan400 lucan400

Hello & welcome.
I am fairly new to the forum (and the brand) but all the queries I have had have been answered quickly by other members of this excellent forum. I am sure you will find the threads helpful, and the opinions valid. Thumbs Up _________________

Welcome Sir!
Firstly, Defenders don't leak anything, they just mark their territory Laughing
I'd love a Defender, but i wouldn't part with my FL2 to get one.
I'm rural too, very, and had to change my tyres for the winter. 4x4 it is, plenty of grip on the flat and uphill, but downhill 2 tons takes some stopping in snow, even worse on ice. So i've two sets of wheels and tyres.

As you're a new owner, plenty of advice on this forum, don't be afraid to ask.
Glad you're enjoying your new toy; Defender and FL2 are chalk and cheese, wish i could own both Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
