Ok, it is going to be all too easy to get carried away by naming loads of stuff you like or dislike on your FL2. So, let's keep it relatively strict:

In no particular order please name the 3 favourite features/item/characteristic on your FL2 and the 3 worst:

BEST:

1. Heated windscreen (makes short work of frost without faffing with de-icer or a scraper)

2. Terrain response (sets the car up to kick ass in various conditions - especially in snow)

3. Ride comfort (effortlessly soaks up the bumps)

Worst:

1: Dashboard top (ridiculous dust magnet and seems to fade in the sun despite various top brand dashboard cleaners)

2. The green backlit dials (the red backlighting in my Dad's Audi is much better)

3. Standard headlights (had to upgrade because they are crap)

3: Kickdown is a little too severe for my liking but perhaps I am still getting used to driving my first auto 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

1) suspension on and off road
2) Cabin feels a nice place to be - combination of seating, driving position, interior materials, decent sound system.
3) Sure footed.

Worst
1) fuel economy around town.
2) lack of ground clearance.
3) stupid air intake - needs to be better sealed and a snorkle. The early FL1 diesel had a float that cut off the main air intake in the front wheel arch, and used a small "snorkle" under the bonnet when wading.

PS love the engine and gearbox but thought I was pushing it with my 3 best as it was.  Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Best:

1. The view from the driver's seat.
2. Good to drive, especially considering what it is.
3. The ability to deal with any road surface / speed humo / lack of road surface!


Worst:

1. Seats are too small, flat and short in the leg.
2. Fuel economy.
3. The lack of a traditional key with a steel blade and a hole to stick it in the side of the steering column.

My wife is not a car person. I traded in her Mondeo Titanium estate with 2.0 163ps TDCi 6-speed manual, for a Fl2 GS 150ps manual. It has everything we need and not much we don't. When asked why the Freelander is so good she just says "I'm proud of it and it is so easy to drive".

Best:
1. Smooth ride (can be bouncy).
2. Ability in all conditions.
3. Passive oad presence.

Worst:
1. Economy (I got 43.x mpg - touring, wife gets 31mpg - town).
2. Boot space for vehicle size.
3. Rear seat space for size of vehicle.

Safe, solid feeling

Rear end/window gets absolutely filthy so quickly
Judging how much room to leave to lift rear hatch when backing up to something
Door manual release only on passenger side, how ridiculous
Clutch and rear diff problems
