NSR door locking problem

My NSR door does not lock with the central locking, but if i lock it manually the central locking will unlock it.
There was a post about this some time ago but it was never concluded.
I removed the door card and speaker etc but access to the inner door is restricted, there is another plate bolted in that looks like part of the window regulator mechanism so because it was getting dark i didn't have time to take it off.
Has anyone else had the same prob and found the problem? cos if i know what it is i can just order the part then i only have to dismantle it once more to fix it!

Having a not too dissimilar problem with my NSR door.....mine locks fine but won't quite open with the central locking, however sometimes after 2-3 presses of the unlock button on the fob it does eventually open fully. I too took off the door card only to find the metal cover on the door itself and didn't have time to go any further at the time! I have seen door lock mechanisms for sale on ebay for around £60 but would like anyone who has also had this problem to say whether replacing this solved the problem or not. The cable is fully attached properly to the inside door release and is moving but not to its full extent!
Good luck with your fix D99, if you sort it out let me know and I'll also keep you informed if I decide just to go for it.

Thumbs Up

Hi - I have just replaced two door mechanisms, on the front drivers and rear near side, an independant dealer told me this is the most common problem he sees with all LR cars! The problem is now cured, glad to say. Smile GS With HSE Alloys, Sat-Nav, Full leather interior, Roof-Bars, Dog Guard
