Yes and they might as well laugh down the phone. They say nobody else is trained like they are so anyone else is inferior and they are the only ones who can guarantee LR parts and workmanship. They also carp on about how LR will give out of warranty goodwill payments if anything goes wrong providing all services are done at an LR dealer.

Stratstone Nottingham quoted me £378.31 inc VAT for genuine LR parts and with me supplying the oil or £295.56 inc VAT for same but with non LR approved parts. Both with free MOT.

Pratstones Aylesbury have just quoted £499 all in with courtesy car then go on to say they will price match any local quote for a Freelander 2nd service done to LR spec, so what they mean is, we will drop our price. Why can't they do that from the start

had my first service done with lookers in park royal. paid something like £410... that was bad enough.

but my second service is due and its quoted at £510 at lookers park royal... its robbery.

is there anywhere I can go that's cheaper in the NW London area, or a little further away?

also if I go to a LR specialist do they stamp the service book and does this entitle the 3 year warranty to continue?

kristo, did you tell them your a forum member? might have made their price a bit lower?

if the servicing garages does the service to the same spec using OEM parts then the warranty is not effected, but keep your documentation as proof, as you might need it in the event of a warranty claim, and you need to prove it was carried out to the spec required

You would still need to go and have a paint work inspection to maintain that, as that can only be done by a authorised LR centre Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It really does beggar belief when you hear what some garages quote for A and B service during the 1st 3 years of ownership.

Basically an oil change with various filters replaced. All the rest is visual checking and we only have the engineers word that he has done that.

Mine's booked in with Stratstone Bury for £250 for the second service, which seems quite reasonable looking at other posts but courtesy car not needed and I was flexible on the day.

Stratstone Burnham quoted £439 today for my B service due next month but stated they would price match other quotes. I said I had another quote of £350 and they let me walk out the door as it was not in writing. I'll keep walking to the independent. . .

I use Graham Goodyer in Coleshill (01494431367) and have been delighted with their work. He uses genuine LR parts. They also collect from home and deliver back at no extra charge.

Our 2nd service is due now, so I'm looking around the Guildford area. Will check Hunters and Guava for quotes, but wondering if anyone's heard of Service4Service?

They're quoting £282 for a full service and £150 for an interim one. They say warranty is protected and that they "install original and approved equipment from manufacturers".

Anyone used them?
