I think he should be disciplined for it at least. All the arseholes who give police grief after 2 shandy's in the local and try to fight with them, will look at this and use it as a justification. We are supposed to live in a democracy, not a 'do as I say not as I do' country.

He should be on the tele giving grovelling apologies, and to show he means it, doing something charitable as a result.

I know people say we're overreacting wanting something done, but the problem is, alot of people in the UK aren't respectable people anymore who will use this as ammo. I've never sworn at a bobby and never will as I don't have the nackers and have more respect than that. But as I've said, lots will use this as an excuse to, and justify, giving the police grief. To be honest Dave I disagree with most of what you say, right up to the final line, where not only are you right, you have also brought a point that I hadn't even considered.
No one has forced MPs to go into public life, it is a choice that bears responsibility, and giving "plebs" the excuse to disrespect the establishment that our farthers fought and died for is not acceptable.
If the establishment is flawed, change it, scrapping it wholesale causes anarchy which benefits very few.

As an aside weren't the plebians the lowest ranking citizen in the Roman empire? Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Yet another fantastic appointment by the pratt that is running the country. Don't forget the same idiot gave Andy Coulson a job !. Before you say it, I don't support the other side either.
The government like to take the protection from the police while undermining their position at any opportunity. They know its illegal for our police to strike. They wouldn't be so brave without the public protection officers all around them. For what its worth I know a few coppers, and they all do an incredible job. They don't get the opportunity to run away from the knife or gun wielding psychopath. I'd love to see how our MP's would react in the same situation. Mitchell has shown the police the same respect as the rioters last year did. Censored ALL !

He is our local MP in Sutton Coldfield and we all despised him before this! Its a conservative area but we want someone else, all we get is leaflets 4 times a year telling us he's been to Africa doing all these amazing things (fair enough) but he does Censored Censored all for our local community! When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car
