Power Fold Mirror's

Evening all
Sorry if this is a repeated Post but I seem to have lost my first one!
My FR2 PFM's use to fold in at all speeds. Following a service and software update a couple of years ago this function wouldn't work over 12mph. Several visits to LR and they said they weren't meant to fold in over 12mph, and showed me the handbook which also mentions this fact. However it was a most useful function and one I would like back especially for where I live. Does anyone know if there is a speed signal wire that goes to the PFM's ecu that I could cut? If so any idea's what wire this would be? Many thanks

Mine is a MY11 and the mirrors fold in up to 70mph, the manual does state it shouldn't happen over 12mph.
I can't think of a reason why it would be useful though?

Power Fold Mirrors

LR advised me that they've allowed the PFM's to fold in up to 70mph owing to customer demand and has been rolled out on vehicles from 2010 on-wards. Useful for around the lanes where I live as it's that close and sometimes even closer!

That makes sense, they are quite big.
I hope you don't tear arse round the lanes at 70 though Laughing

Mine started making weird noises when locking yesterday like the motor wouldnt shut off, moved them right in then right out a load of times while spraying with WD 40 in and they seem ok now.

It's a common fault. However, WD40 wont last long, it's not a lubricant, it's a water dispersent.
Try a silcon spray. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Mine don't power fold at all. Was this an option or standard in the '08 petrol SE (w/ nav) version? If I'm missing out, I gotta have it checked out! CAR HISTORY

I don't think folding mirrors was an option on USA spec cars iirc Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Those wing mirrors are quite large - just think of the improved drag coefficient with those dog ears folded in! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
