As I intend to stop overnight, Mrs Pegleg has said that she'll stop at home with our dogs. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

OK, we will settle with the 13th October, this will give us time to book a location for those staying over.
I will scout sround and come up with some ideas in the Windermere area, of course, if anyone has an existing knowledge of a good location then speak up. I will also ask my eldest lad, he is a manager in a hotel chain and may be able to get us a deal, not sure what they have in that area.

The general plan will be to meet up Saturday morning, time and location to be determined, depending really on who will be travelling furthest and what time they can make it.
Saturday night stopover in lakes, evening meal and a few beers.
Sunday morning breakfast and head home.

Paul

Pegleg and I have been trawling the lakes for accommodation for the 13th, struggling as they shun single occupancy for one night blah blah blah.

If you want to attend and stay over on the 13th we need to know then we can come up with something.

So far we have 3 people staying over?

We are saying in Cockermouth, Travelodge is cheap enough and after sampling the local Jennings ales it won't matter.

I will put up a rough Itinary in a day or so, but plan on the original route bar the last leg.

Must admit Nick, Sneck Lifter is an aquired taste.
However, if you're up to buying a bottle of Perrier-Jouet, Taz and I will be more than pleased to help drink it Rolling with laughter Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Anyone else up for this trip?

Scenic tour of the lakes taking in the well known passes, Wrynose, Hardknott and Whinlatter.
Lots of photo opportunites and a great way to share ideas, try new techniques etc.

The evening is optional, three are already booked into accomodation in Cockermouth, some decent reataurants around, a straw poll will be taken at the time as to where we eat, followed by a sampling of local ales Whistle

If you are interested, stick yer name down

The Plan (roughly)

10:30 Meet up around Ambleside
head off towards Little Langdale
Wrynose Pass
Cockley Beck - Great photos round the bridge
Up over Hardknott Pass - hopefully weather will be good, great views if it is.
Dalegarth station, Eskdale Railway, coffee shop and toilets etc
Head off towarsd Santon Bridge and on to Wast Water, probably park up and have lunch here, Burgers or bacon butts Thumbs Up
following lunch and depending on who falls asleep Laughing we will head off towarsd Calder Bridge and on up towarsd Ennerdale, then turning back into the lakes via Loweswater and on to ButterMere, over Honister Pass
and into Borrowdale, from here we turn North and head towards Keswick, taking a detour to Ashness Bridge, a famous photo stop before heading up to Keswick.
From keswick we will head towards Cockermouth via Whinlattter pass.

Overnight at Travelodge in Cockermouth for those who wish.
Sunday return home.

This is a revised route as above and is approx 78 miles in total.
We will stop as necessary for photos and clutch cooling for those in manual cars Laughing

Looks a good route, well done and thanks for taking time to sort it

Are we meeting at the main car park in Ambleside? Just past the little house over the river? Large enough for a meet, but pay and display

Even if your not in to photography, no reason why you cant come for a drive, (bearing in mind the reason for the meet is photography so expect camera talk etc) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
