You see, humor again to mask the truth, that being that my post Goodbye 2 explaining why I was returning for that one last posting was within a few seconds deleted by npinks. He did not wish for the awkward truth to be exposed to the broad membership.

Finally, I have no desire to enter into a role swop - my concerns are about the moderation style delivered by npinks, the latest example of falsehood you have seen above.

Alex, I admire your suggestion but the matter of replacing or not this site's moderator rests with the site owner Martin, and, if a replacement was to be undertaken I would hope that all candidates would put their names forward in a membership poll which would then give the winning candidate a popular mandate to take office.

For a moderator to act in this way is quite unbelievable. Before more good members leave I suggest you moderate your own style!

We are now seeing behaviour that is in direct contravention of the rules posted under "Site Behaviour." Someone needs to get a grip or, as Mona Geezer says the whole forum could fragment. Gentlemen pull back.

I must've missed something recently as I've been away from the forum working away so much.

This is not the kind of language one associates with a so called moderator who I thought was supposed to calm things down not add fuel to the fire. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

It is sad that over the last few weeks quite a number of valued members have dropped off the radar.

I personally believe one way forward would be to have a number of moderators, A) to alleviate the pressure being on one persons shoulders B) a more democratic approach would be taken to the moderation of the forum

In this recent case where a moderator has become embroiled in the thread it would allow for him to step back and other mods discuss the issue offline. This is an approach I see on other forums and I am surprised this approach isn't employed here.

The problem has arisen due to the fact Althestan dislikes been moderated, or in this case asked to do something

that's the last I'll say on the matter

It's not a issue for me, but obviously is for him Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Is this for real guys?

I noted that some posts got out of hand on another thread and it was locked out, but is that really a reason to start another and another that simply go over the same things.

We need moderation, but we also need a bit of freedom to say the things we feel, but this is just getting totally out of hand and clogging up the forum with messages that have no content or contribution to the topics the forum was created for.

On most occasions, npinks does a worthy job of moderating but on some occasions gts it wrong. We all get things wrong sometimes and then cannot see the wood from the trees.

Athelstan has given a great contribution to many threads and appears to be having a bad week. We all have those occasionally too!

Can you all give it a rest and go vent off, then come back again so we can all continue to take value from your work?

Not having a bad week at all - I'm away for good if npinks stops deleting my threads in reply to his inaccurate statement of the reason I left. Only came back because he seeks to pervert the truth and deny the right of reply not just to me, but today to others. Of course you cannot see that - but some posters have seen their post removed - right Iain.

Parrallx33 I share your sentiment - censorship does inadvertently clutter the forum. End of the day I'm way for ever.

If people think they are being treated unfarely then they will get peed off and wont bother. If its true and a lot of poeple have droped off the radar then you realy got to ask yourself why ???
