Looking to buy a FL2

Right, after many weeks thinking, looking I've decided to buy a FL2. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to FL so thought I would ask a couple of questions, hoping someone can provide some response.

* Is there a particular year/model to get. To be honest, I'm looking to spend around 6k - 9k.
* Is a FL2 with 100K+ miles on the clock ok? (its going to be a diesel)

Ideally I would like a model with a built in Sat nav and at least, part leather. Am I right in thinking I've got to start to look for at least a GS model?

6k-9k limits your options somewhat.

I would think a well looked after 07 model year with over 100k miles would be ok as long as it had been serviced, etc.

If it is a manual then check that it has had a new clutch and DMF, otherwise budget for a new one soon !!!!

I really would not hold out for an inbult LR satnav. I do not find mine intuitive at all and use a Garmin instead. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

To get part leather and built in sat nav you need to be looking for an SE pre 2011 and xs post 2011 model years.
In your price range you'd be realistically looking at a 07, 57 or possibly 08 plate with a highish mileage.

I've heard of 07 manuals doing 150000k miles with minimal problems - not sure what they were but the owner traded in for a new one.

Hi guys, thats for the responses. That said, I can live without a leather interior but I would like a sat nav so I suppose I could look for a less spec model. I suppose the important thing is to look for a well maintained FL2. Is it possible to retro fit / or purchase (second hand) the satnav that come with the SE / HSE models into the gao in the console?

some tomtoms/garmins fit nicely into the hole will navigate more sensibly and cost similar to a mapping update on the oem. they can be hardwired in very easily

oem cannot be fitted secondhand At work

Well it's been a while since I posted here......3 years almost, when I sold my much loved Disco 3. The move to an Audi has been expensive but worth it - the A8 is a superb car BUT it's time to change after 3 years happy ownership and I really like the idea of returning to the green oval and a FL2...

So, what can I expect for around £16k - ish....I could afford a little bit more but don't want to spend much more after losing a heap on the D3 courtesy of a main dealer finance arrangement Big Cry

I have seen some nice 07/57/08/58 HSE's for £15-£18k with upto 50k on the clock.

I am hoping for all the toys of my D3 SE or as near to it. Am looking to use this for normal use and towing

Your ideas and feedback are appreciated Thumbs Up
