Just 1 week now into FL2 SD4 ownership and today I decided to try the power. I used commandshift to avoid kickdown and put it into 5th at 70 to test mid range grunt. I was on the A38 at the time and floored it before backing off at 71mph

Needless to say the acceleration is simply effortless! In the big scheme of things the FL2 is a sloth but relatively speaking it felt pretty damn quick

I should add that this moment of heavy footed behavior saw 27mpg

A steady cruise to work as normal sees 43mpg but dropping into high 30's once A38 ends and I head into busier stop/start city centre traffic. 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

My apologies for a vague start to the post! I have sampled the power through kickdown and joining slip roads but today was a chance to test the mid range grunt because I deployed commandshift to avoid kickdown which I think revs too much before changing if really going for it.

Superb as per my earlier comment and I must confess to having tried acceleration from a standstill in sand mode on a country lane! Built the revs up and the lifted off the brake

No I didn't get one but I did an LR day in an FL2 last year and it was very interesting. I thought the car was going to tip over at one point. Went to Rockingham Castle. 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

That makes no sense at all, but made me smile
Just about the slowest thing I've driven, my NSU Quickly (remember those days?) was almost as quick - or slow.

But the ride quality of FL2 is excellent, after a long drive you still feel quite refreshed.
And at my age, that takes some doing

Pegleg, I have driven a manual FL2 (pre-facelift) and that felt slow albeit a lot quicker than my old FL1 if that makes sense! But trust me, there is a world of difference in pace with the SD4. Auto box means standstill acceleration is better but the in gear pace is excellent imo. 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack
