iPhone Connection to Stereo

I've an iPhone 4S - able to charge using the ciggy socket hooked up to the base of my iPhone - Bluetooth working well so able to make/ receive calls using Steering wheel etc.... SO how can I change / select tracks on the iPhone using the steering wheel - whch cable do I need. I have hooked up using a 3.5mm jack using the AUX behind centre console to ear-phone socket on iPhone - able to play ok but cant select different artists or change tracks Just bought my Freelander - amazin !

I am running the same configuration as you with the iPhone mounted into the cubby and powered thru the cig socket. I understand there is a LR adaptor to give you the music functionality, but dont know of any workaround... Yet. 2012 DISCOVERY 4 GS AUTO ORKNEY GREY

Don't think you can without the Adaptor Kit.

It's an Audio Connectivity System. Details can be found on Page 52 of the current Freelander 2 brochure.

Seem to recall it's not cheap and may not still be available.
Dan at Duckworth Parts will be able to tell you price and availability.

I understand it has to be integrated into the stereo system, so also involves removing some dash panels 2012 DISCOVERY 4 GS AUTO ORKNEY GREY

Alternatively use Siri! Just pull the steering wheel telephone control until you get a beep (as if you were dialling using a voice tag) and say a Siri command - "Play [album Title], Next track....etc

Also works for an iphone 4 using voice control
