Simply drive smoothly without "snatching" on gear changes. Minimise hard power on/power off actions, especially in lower gears. If towing a 'van, try to tow smoothly through the gears without spilling a virtual bucket of water stood on the van floor BTW, my FL2 is on 87k, with original clutch/DMF. They don't all break early. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

One other thing: If you find you have a flat battery and need to start it, avoid the "bump" start method (ie, pushing or towing then engaging 2nd gear to spin the engine over). It can damage the DMF. Jump start it with jump leads from another battery. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

And make sure you are using the correct oil (multiple threads on this). |
