thieving

long story, a fellow chicken farmer came to the farm to meet with the guy who rents a shed from me. he saw the great pile of disused florescent light units I had, he politely asked if he could have a few to break for spares in order mend his own ( they are not much more than scrap anyway replaced with LED units).
I said ok, but leave a few for me to dismantle for repairs myself. we piled about 30 into his truck sorting out the nicer ones for me to keep . Anyway about a week later he returned while I was away and loaded the rest into his truck and Censored off along with 2 new boxed units , box of 20 brand new tubes and some cable.

I rang him today, he started making excuses saying he must have picked them up by accident, then that his mate was with him and didnt know which were to be picked which not. then finally am I sure I havent moved them myself.

The end of the 'conversation' being that tomorrow he is bringing the whole lot back to me as he doesn't want to fall out with me Laughing

ingrate fecker Evil or Very Mad . means I have a trip to the tip with a load of junk light fittings when I thought I had offloaded them all, and he will have to search again for non stocked spares for out of date fittings

idiot. At work

Must have been a Yorkshire man - no Derbyshire bloke would do such a cowardly act as thieve from a fellow farmer - not even a poultry producer.......... Wink

Only a Yorkshire poultry producer would engage in a cowardly chicken act of engaging in copyright theft, deformation and the scurrilous dissemination of inebriated tribal behaviour. You're a parasitical scallywag CG.

shrink wrap them onto a pallet, print a fake delivery note and tape it to the side. leave them near the front gate, 99.999% certain those colourful, cheeky, Romany travelling chappies will probably make a mistake and think they are for them........ 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Would be interested to find out how long they last.
We have replaced all the GU10 50W lamps at home with various makes of LED, out of the 31 we replaced a couple of years ago 6 have failed, this easily wipes out the saving in electricity.

The ones on dimmers fair less well, and in all cases it is the electronics that drop the mains voltage to the low voltage DC that has failed.

I suspect in the end we will be forced to use LED lamps as tungsten filament will be outlawed in the EU.
- flourescents usually have mercury, so although they use less power the green loonies will eventually turn on them as well. Time to get off the soap box and fix the guttering while the rain has lessened. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Lasted 18mths so far, 10 failed after 1 second, impressive Laughing faulty transformer clips,, none have failed since. they are on 18 - 24 hours a day only getting a weeks rest in between batches of chickens every 9 weeks.

sadly they cost £90 each, replacing flourescent fittings at £45 ish. specialist dimmer control is needed too . but each unit saves atleast 10p per day running costs

I have installed 58 units so far another 40 yet to buy. At work
