One other aspect to consider is that you still get full european breakdown cover. When I used it last year for a power steering failure they came to home (LR tech) took me to the garage and then arranged for Enterprise rent a car...exactly the same service as normal warranty (the only slight difference was that they had the freedom to give me other makes of car. If it makes any difference I will be giving it some very serious consideration next year, I will more than likely take up the offer, I will either do that or chance running with out cover, the likes of Warranty Direct don't do much for me and with European Cover it seems daft not to and AA with Relay will cost £100 and will cost more the following year and that's UK only.

Just wondered if there is any margin for dealers to discount if it could be arranged via them ?

Just back from dealer (Hunters, Derby). They can't offer discount on the LR warranty but Inchcape group offer their own warranty from the same people who do the LR one. I am awaiting a call from their business manager tomorrow re costs etc. 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

I had FIVE year warranty on my first Freelander 2 in 2009 From Inchcape never a problem,anything needed doing it was done .

BUT CHECK document before you SIGN... !!!(they had written only 3 years till I pointed it out to them ..!!)

Same this last time, 1 problem on the new SD4 they sorted it out eventually, well satisfied.(NOW HUNTERS)  Wales
Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.
(And we have the water to wash it off, and more on the way..! )

Afraid I didn't get any details on the Inchcape warranty for the FL2 'cos we were really taken by a Disco 4 and ended up buying it - we only went in to collect the FL2!  2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.
