Has any one fitted LED brake lights? Are they any good??

I have had the LED sidelights for a while now and might consider these. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

The rear lights are different on the facelift car so I can't have those unless there were some red one's available. There were some red one's for sale but the FL2 wasn't compatible according to the checking thingy. 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

LED lamps like these don't work well in a reflector bowl designed for a normal filament lamp; despite the sideways mounted LED's, you will wind up with a pin prick of light, rather than a reflector bowl full of light. Check OEM lights that are built for LED's, they don't use reflector bowls, but banks of evenly spread LED's in lamps specifically designed for them.

They won't have the relevant road legal e markings either, which might have liability issues if someone goes into the back of you.

Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Hmm as tigger says i'm not sure its worth it? 

While I could agree with Tigger about filament vs. LEDs in the reflector, but I would say a bigger problem for me would be the amount of Lumens emitted from the LEDs.
the 5W/21W difference is typically bigger with a normal filament bulb - i.e. you see the braking light a lot better than the normal red tail light. In LEDs this difference is typically less prominent, making it hard to see whether they actually are braking or just have a strong bulb...

I would probably rather wait until the OEM tail lights from the 2013 are on sale ... that seems to be LED based if I've seen the spy pics properly. It's never too late to learn something new...
