New car, a few things I have found

I was hoping to use my nokia 6300 as an ipod via the aux socket, but now I find that it wont play music to the aux while bluetooth paired to the fl2 or wont pair if already playing music.
Its a shame as the sound quality from the phone via aux is pretty good.
Looks like I need a second ipod for the car as my other ipod lives in the front room connected to my surround sound system or ventures to the kitchen occasionally to plug into the dab radio's aux socket. This way all my cds can live hidden away in a spare room and I want the same in the car no cd's spilling out of the glove box.

While messing around in the car today I found a large grey lump of plastic in the boot after some scratching of my head I realised its the cover for the front towing eye. duly refitted

The LED lights work great in the boot and rear seat roof light, as I thought they are a bit bright to go in the front roof light. But the boot and rear ones will be great esp when strapping the forthcoming baby into its seat and stowing all the baby junk in the boot.

I managed to blow a fuse while fitting the roof light Embarassed , best to use a piece of wood rather than a screwdriver to ease the light into position! or turn the light off first! But at least I now know there are 3 fuses boxes in the car and the manual pages are wrong the light fuse is in the footwell not the boot.

I've had it about 10 hours now and managed to drive it about 200yards from my house to the workshop!

The black side tubes are looking good against the black paint and privacy glass. No photos yet as Mrs George has the camera and the weather is terrible too

My key ring is nowhere near a cool as gambbas, but I got a free wallet to store all those cd's I don't want in the car.

Finally the dealer says the fl2 didn't previously come with a front airbag deactivation switch, Its does now.

my Fl2 is Nov 2006 and has the airbag switch Shocked don't think you will get much earlier than that Question (Poss models below SE)

Your XS will have the 6 disc changer? why don't you burn the albums you regularly listen too to disc in MP3 format you'll get about 12 albums per disc

its what i have done and the ipod comes along to when on longer journeys Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

no only a single slot, I don't like changers much they are too slow on shuffle mode. a basic ipod should do the trick for me.

Yeah I got one of those as well Mr. Green

I agree the CD changeover is pretty slow, but for quality sound its CD or Apple Lossless which would mean only a few CD's would fit on my nano befor its full....so think it's time for larger capacity one.

The most annoying thing I have found with the car is the hook which sticks up through the floor mat....its just annoying sometimes.

Need to replace the interior lights with LED's as they are pretty poor and must get me the clear side repeater lenses.

I found the plastic in boot too when I picked mine up - Stealer told me it was a cover for if I have a TOWBAR! A few days later I was walking uphill back to my car and noticed front looked odd. Penny dropped and I fitted plastic trim. So much for Dealer knowing their product?

I also have the front airbag switch on my 07 GS FL2 - I thought they all had them!

Here she is in all her splendor! Had a good drive out to the airport earlier, things were going great until me and about 50 other cars got stuck behind an f@*&%g cara Censored van making me a few minutes late to pick up Mrs George. Selfish idiot! And yes I did set off in good time but 12 miles behind a slow wobbly trailer from Harrogate to Leeds/Bradford is just crazy Banging Head .
It drove real nice on the A1 quieter than my A3

Stealer didn't fit a strap on the boot lid so my short wife cant shut it! She will have to bike to work instead!

Had a trip to Whitby today the fl2 went like a dream (except needing £73 to fill the tank!) love the high driving position so I can see over hedges and compare other farmers crops to my own. The bluetooth goes a bit to well allowing Mrs George to gossip to her mates while I drive. Sad .

The car is a whole world apart from my fl1 not even comparable. super smooth, near silence when cruising. But who decided it needs a start stop button? I like thinks kept simple and while the button is easy enough to operate its an unneeded step. VW passats have a better system where you insert the fob then press it a little further to start the engine, one operation easy.

We tried the maxi-cosi cabriofix baby seat in the back yesterday , a simple easy fit with the isofix base and lots of room to around the seat for access

The dog enjoyed using the parcel shelf as a trampoline, until I caught it and gave it bash around the ears!
