KEY FOB PROBLEM

Hi everyone

I am sure you ahve had posts on this (I did try and search honestly)....

Anyway my fob locks the doors fine. It starts the ignition fine...But it wont Censored unlock..........and I have to use the "key" inside the fob in the passenger side blah blah....

I am reassured that the central locking isnt itself broken BUT can someone please tell me what I have to do (as my mrs is giving me grief Embarassed ).... easier and cheapest fix the best..

Thank you Thumbs Up
H

It's always worth doing a full reset by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. Can't do any harm and costs nothing but might just work!!

Can you lock/unlock the doors from dash switchs. If so it sounds like the button on the fob but you could do with the other fob just to compare.

Could be the key fob battery. Here's how to replace it: http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/f11/l...ons-58270/

Hi Thanks so much

I think it might be that as
1) the in car central locking button on the dash works fine- so I think the locking system itself is working ;and
2) the fob did work INSIDE the car! Rolling Eyes

Check that you have been putting the fob in the correct way up, it only charges with the button side face up.

How long have the keys been rechargeable? Would our 2008 model have this function? Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black

Yes. Which is why you should use both keys from time to time.

Will go either way up but will charge with the button side up only.

Rechargeable batteries were fitted from day one.
