Anyone got a TIVO box?

I have had 60mb broadband with virgin for a while now at £30 per month. They rang and offered unlimited phone call landline package and M+ TV package with 75 channels for £51.90 including keeping same broadband.

I took them up on the offer and we get free installation of a TIVO box. To be honest we only have freeview at the mo and we don't watch all those channels but there are some interesting channels available here that might be worth watching.

So, has anyone got one and how do you find using it? I understand it can be programmed via an app for iPhones and androids. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Yes got one at Xmas , only got 500mb , wish I got !TB . Found it really good , can record 2 progs while watching a third. It has its own broadband connection so doesn't slow down main router. Can watch Youtube , Iplayer etc. Thinking of replacing one of my other V+ boxes and getting another one.

I've had one since they announced them!
The package they offered was too good to pass up on at the time and I haven't regretted my decision one bit since.
The box "I have the 500Mb version" is a huge improvement on the old V+ box and even though I record a lot in HD while I'm working away, I haven't managed to get beyond 27% capacity yet.
The search capability is fantastic, so is the ability to simply search for and watch anything on You-tube via your telly.
The Like/Dislike programme rating was turned off fairly rapidly to avoid the box doing it's own thing. We still get to rate a programme and it still suggests things, but now it doesn't record every damn thing 'it' thinks we might like.
Overall, we're very happy with it, faultless so far and yes there is an app to use on your smart phone if you wish. I haven't used it, but I did forget to set a series record while we were in Cyprus last year and simply logged into my account via Virgin Media on my notebook, looked at the programme guide and setup my TiVo box to record the series while I was away.
Lots of recording options too, very handy for live sport recording where a match might run on into extra time. Thumbs Up

I doubt you'd get more than one programme on the 500MB model.
The 500GB version is far more suitable for recordings Wink Laughing 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual
