No - Lr would never sell a car costing £53000 with missing wiring in the rear door, foreign bodies under the paintwork, knocking suspension, tyres that lose the edge at 10000 miles, random power loss in dangerous situations and electrical glitches/warning lights Bow down

Their highly trained dealers would never lift it with the wrong equipment, drop it then bodge the repair and scratch the paintwork Thumbs Up

LRCS would never say they are sorry but tell you to sort it with the dealer even though they built it Very Happy

Oh and a crv is not comparable with a freelander, a landcruiser not comparable with a disco, a toureg not comparable with a sport Shocked

Thud Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

I've seen all of the above with the likes of Bentley, AstonMartin, Mercedes, BMW and more so Audi, Toyota and Nissan so what you quote is nothing unusual for any mass manufactuer and I've seen worse. It happens. Just it seems it happens to you.

If they are that bad then why do you have one? or is it a caravaner thing?

Further, why don't you look at the average age of cars still left on the road.........Land Rover will probably be at the top then.

I bought this one because I had 6 good LR's before - this is the first bad one Thumbs Up

What does me being a caravaner have to with it Shocked

If it just happens to me why are which reporting Lr bottom based on members feedback - am I the only person who returned the survey - incidently I scored mine highly when I sent it back but that was before I found out customer service is a glossy cardboard cut out Bow down

I agree there are loads of old land rovers still on the road - they were built solid and basic to last - not stuffed with loads of electronic that dealers don't understand Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

2012 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Orkney Grey

It is a strange world we live in!

Honda come top of the reliablility list, yet they have just announced that their Swindon plant is to go onto short time working because of lack of demand for their products.

LR come bottom of the reliablity list yet they announce 1200 new jobs at Castle Bromwich (I think?) because of increasing demand for their products. Confused

Who has got it right, Honda or LR? Now: 2012 FL2 SD4 XS Orkney Grey
Previously: 2007 D3 TDV6 XS Tonga Green
Before that: 2003 FL1 TD4 "Kalahari" Black

Lr have a heritage and prestige that sells around the world - the main reason I bought my first FL1 despite tales of unreliability Cool

I am lucky that for 10 years I only had minor issues and good customer service from dealers prior to doubling my outlay on the RRS Bow down

When things go majorly wrong you find you are a minority and it is cheaper for the big company to ignore you and they will not notice your loss of business because there are plenty more customers in India and china who do not read English Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Just to counter the Daily Mail experts

Maybe this is worth making note of - if it's so. I have yet to experience getting rid of mine as it still functions well and puts a smile on my face when I drive it (hopefully this will continue).

These reports are a total load of Censored . It's all down to them gaining owner feedback.

Not many people will report on a decent car, but will bitch about a faulty one.

I totally ignore these reports. I do 30,000+ miles a year, and I can't remember the last time I saw a Land Rover broken down at the side of the road.

Now I can count loads of BMW's and Audi's that I see on the hard shoulder. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I don't understand your point. Assuming you are correct - and only unhappy people vote. Then it stands to reason there are more unhappy owners at the bottom of the table than at the top. i.e. More unhappy LR owners than Honda owners (for example). So it is still valid??

Equally, if only unhappy people voted - the cars at the top of the table would not have such good ratings - obviously a lot more people were positive about the top cars than the bottom cars?

And finally - if you look at how many cars Audi and BMW sell - I am not surprised you see a lot more broken down at the side of the road!!

These figures are meaningful, but you choose to take note or ignore as you see fit. But remember the next prospective buyer of your used LR may be looking at these figures before making you an offer. So if you do love your LR and it gave excellent service, make sure you give it positive ratings at the next survey Thumbs Up (Coming) 2016 RR Evoque td4 180 HSE Dynamc

You can buy a Casio watch for a few quid which will be accurate to a nanosecond over three million years.
Or, you could buy a Vacheron Constantin from one of the oldest watchmakers in the World for the price of several FFRR's which looses 4 seconds a day.
I know which i'd prefer Whistle Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I drove a Toyota Hilux 4x4 DC for 10 years - trust me, life is too short to drive a boring car.
