Just test drove a D4 XS as possible replacement for the Wag Rover Sport and I liked it Thumbs Up

I found steering a bit heavier and ride a bit bouncy/rough compared to the Vogue/Sport but not a deal breaker Confused

SWMBO didn't like it though Rolling Eyes

I think part of problem is going down spec from HSE through no fault of our own is clouding our judgement Embarassed

After 7 weeks of this I don't really know if I am coming or going and being unable to get away with van at weekends to recharge hasn't helped either Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Best ask for a loan of a D4 for a week to see if you like it.
I had one of them when some fool crashed into my tow car and the insurance messed around with fixing it.
The package is lovely. But there are a few buts. I hated that dial gear selector, the power delivery at junctions was scary. If you approached a junction rolling/coasting saw a gap and then pressed the loud pedal, it would pause, think and then all hell let loose. Sometimes in the path of what was a long way off!
Also the seat on the XS had a lump in the base it was like sitting on a jumper or spare clothing, felt very strange in both front seats.
The doors did not close very well, really took a good shove to close, the boot lid sometimes two or three goes, or would pop just ajar when driving and set off the display. They felt rather cheap for such an expensive car.
As a piece of engineering the 3.0 V6 is amazing, can do great MPG, but if it was my money would not buy one of them!
I had it for three weeks and was really pleased to have my 12year old 4.7 V8 LPG Landcruiser back Very Happy

This is a massive issue with my RRS - had a few near misses - not so much a pause more like it has stalled and you have to wait for it to start again Shocked

SWMBO did not like D4 at all so no point trying it for a week - she did not like the seats, thought it looked cheap inside compared to the sport and in view of my issues plus Which slating the D4 and RRS decided to avoid them both altogether Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
