just get it repaired ? :S why would you walk away! if they offer to do a repair you know it should be ok then! lol whereas if you buy one thats faultless something is bound to go wrong trust me!! When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

Quite common that the rear tracking can be out on a freelander 2, may cause the wear |

Yes, tracking should always be done on all 4 wheels. The rear ones do go out - my last set of tyres were fine for 30 000 miles, but the tracking went out after an off-road day and the new ones started to wear as a result. |

Yes that was my thinking!! It should be ready Monday, so hopefully a final test drive will find the problem solved. Thanks for the points on tracking, I'll make sure the garage get this sorted! Cheers, Lew |

Well replacing the rear tyres appears to have cured the problem! I'd have put money on the noise being a bearing. Picking it up in the morning - excited is an understatement!

JUST had four new tyres and got the tracking done..guy called me over to show me the computer screen and told me the arrows should all be in the middle..they were over to one side on every wheel and he told me it was a good job i had got it done...(it was a freebie thrown in with the tyres). not bad for my tyres as i got them new in jan 2008.. |
