I am looking at changing the badges on my FL2 to the black ones. I have seen the front and rear ones and the centre hub caps ones on ebay but not sure if there is anywhere that the ones for the 'c' pillar can be bought.
If anyone could advise that would be a great help.

Hi John,

I contacted MUD UK and they have some small black Land Rover Badges that may be appropriate for the C pillars (oval size width = 42mm heighty = 21mm. I have me badges, but I do not have me Freelander yet as it hasn't come off the production line yet

Have you fitted the remaining ones with success ?

Centre hub diameter is approximately 63mm so these should fit the Freelander 2

The guys above at Taw Park 4x4 advertise their badges etc on ebay

Also I have just found the CLEAR SIDE INDICATORS REPEATERS (complete with orange bulbs) on ebay for £29.99, ordered these today as the other guys are selling them for £40.00 !

Look for:

NEW FREELANDER 2 CLEAR SIDE INDICATORS REPEATERS

I am going to have some badges made if any of the above do not fit. I will keep this thread updated on any further progress.

Hi just on this sybject - to anyone who has changed their's

I have purchased my Black/Silver badges from my local Landrover dealer after saying I wanted the front and back badges from a RRS.

Having got them home they are a fair bit smaller than the green/gold ones on my FL2 - is this right ???

IIRC the RRS front and rear badges are smaller than the FL2 for some bizzare reason, but I guess that they'll look fine in the oval mounts.

Having said the above, I didn't hear anyone that has fitted black badges saying they were smaller.......

well unitl I have a look around I am going to leave the badges for now - just concerned that it going to look a bit it they dont fit exactly.

Maybe worth dropping member Dave Wilkin a PM, because I would say without a doubt he has done the most research into fitting black badges on the FL2.

And as you say better to be safe than ....er........stupid......i mean, sorry.

Well I have been going thru the members gallery looking for someone who has done the mod but not found anyone yet.

My FL2 is silver and so I think this mod would set it off something great. I put the centre caps on last night and they look good but I have decided to take them off until I can change all the badges - I just hope I dont up being the forum guinea pig.

My clear indicators arrived yesterday and I will be putting these on the weekend.

Just looking to buy some black badges from flea-bay....nipped out to the garage with a ruler to measure the rough size....come back in, someone had bought the ones I was looking at! :shock With "Buy it now"

Dave Wilkin (I think) had posted up the dimensions of all of the badges somewhere here. Think I might PM to find out what he did in the end with his badges.

Found his info;

C Pillar dimensions are Width 72 Height 38

Front dimensions are Width 105 Height 52

Back dimensions are Width 110 Height 60"

Not sure it gets us any closer to our goal..........

Already posted this in another topic, but to keep it in the same thread I'll post it here as well.

Was at the dealer the other day so spent some time looking at the other LR models and it turns out that the FL2 has a much larger badge than all of the other models; Disco (LR3), RRS and FFRR.......which is very strange.

Maybe they thought the FL2 needed that bit of extra brand identification compared to the others in order to make sure people knew what it was they were seeing on the road, because everyone certainly knows a Disco 3 or a RR, but less so the Freelander models
