12 Months and 40,000 miles. What's gone wrong?

Around 700 miles: Unscheduled visit to Kendal LR dealer to reload the software for the climate control to allow me to turn the driver's side heater off.
15,000 miles: First service at Roger Young in Saltash. No problems.
25,000 miles: New set of Continental tyres.
30,000 miles: Second service at Roger Young in Saltash. No problems.
40,000 miles: Chip on windscreen repaired.

That's it.

Service from both the Kendal dealer and Roger Young has been virtually faultless.

Here's to the next 2 years being as good as the first.

11/9/13 UPDATE:

Mileage dropped back a little and at 2 years, 2 months & 11 days old (!), it's just about to pass through 80,000 miles; nothing to report other than regular servicing & tyres. No warranty claims, no rattles, no niggles. It should be around 105,000 miles when it goes in another 9 1/2 months.

You've got a good'un there Tigger - both car and dealer. Thumbs Up

If only the same could be said of her Ladyship's FL2 Big Cry

K's is not a lemon by any measure, but, it has had too many niggling little faults n rattles, and too many inexperienced official workshop personnel failing to resolve issues for a so called "premium" brand. More of a "presage" brand supported by precocious people here in CH. Sad

Wales 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver

Bought mine 11 months ago (second hand with 35,000 miles) and have covered 5,000 miles. The following has gone wrong

1 Clutch and flywheel replaced
2 New rear brakes (pads, disks and handbrake mechanism)
3 New glow plugs (was a sod to start in cold weather)
4 New steering lock (to solve crashing dash board)
5 New battery (well it is 5 years old)
6 Update to software to make it start when you press start instead of 'beep' and reset of trip computer...

What remains wrong? Windscreen wipers sometime stay on regardless of what you do with the switch. 'Steering lock engaged' message from time to time (when it isn't - dealer can't find the fault).

Great car that I love driving but I do wonder what is going to wrong next... any guesses?

I should say that the dealer has been very helpful and has ensured all this has been repaired under warranty (apart from battery).

Athelstan,
Are you bringing your freely over? If so why dont you book it in at TVLR for a once over!? IS LR warranty valid in the UK with a "swiss" vehicle?

The 3yr LR Warranty is a valid globally regardless of the country of purchase. Her Ladyship's expires on November 19th. We'll be coming over in her FL2.

As for "things" to be put right - well the problem is that that may take more time than we can leave the vehicle with a dealer - but - if TVLR have a courtesy Land Rover (excepting a Defender - too uncomfortable for the run to Scotland) waiting at Newcastle docks on the 8th October then I can give'em a list of "electrical things-to-do" within warranty that the Numpties here in CH are unable to fix. They blame everything on their - I quote: "too slow diagnostic computer"!!

And, I could give them some things I'd like to have fitted as extras which are nothing to do with warranty to also boast the TVLR bank balance Smile

I'm only sorry to say that mine has never seen any polish and (far worse than that), it's even taken to going through the roll over car wash Shocked Shocked

There's very few cars in the world that deserve that! Except, perhaps, my old Citroen C5...
