If the 'FSH' is a full Land Rover dealer history and you can see all receipts, service book etc then it should be ok. If it is a dealer selling the car can you get hold of the previous keepers details from the V5 and get in touch to find out more about the history of the car? Is there a warranty on offer with it? 96k on a well looked after diesel should not be a problem. The asking price sounds reasonable to me.

Check for whining power steering as early models had problems with swarf in the rack clogging up the fine-mesh filter in reservoir leading to fluid starvation and failure. Catch it early enough and you can get away with a new(modified) reservoir and changing the fluid.
