Richard Simple answer is the back ones were marking the paint on the rear panel. Took them off when i swapped them over for a pair of Natalie's "face lift" set with the clear break light. Probably won't go back on, if i could i would take the front ones off, only i would be left with two lumps of plastic on either wing, where they attach.
