Mine came without a spare wheel only one of those blow up emergency thingies. So I went on that well known site which people sell everything on and got a proper spare with a decent tyre for a fraction of the LR prices.

I thought those blow up thingies were there to keep you amused whilst waiting for the AA to arrive Laughing ______________________

I'm not too happy with the repair kit idea. If the missus gets a puncture, even the AA can't do a great deal except recover the vehicle, and leave me to sort the replacement. The local dealer quoted over £300 for the wheel, tyre, storage tray, and jack etc. Shocked

So what you need is a Jack which LR sell for about £30, a wheel brace and,

The storage tray was discontinued two or three years ago, the Jack is retained in position with an elastic band and the centre bolt that screws down through the centre of the wheel, then the Jack into the floor.

Excellent choice Thumbs Up Same colour, year and model as mine so superb choice indeed Very Happy

Well done for getting the pre-ruined by chrome and softly softly grille model Laughing

Just out of interest, did you opt for either the cold climate or winter pack? I went for cold climate pack but in order for me to avoid the delay with factory build times, the dealer got one from stock in Scotland which was great. It was 2 years old in April and no probs with it. Lovely jubbly. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Unfortunately it came with neither of the option packs fitted. Tbh, we were more interested in it having already having the LR detachable towbar fitted.

That's fair enough. I went for the cold climate pack because it included heated windscreen and washer jets for an extra £250. Although the heated windscreen is useful, the heated washer jets aren't what they're cracked up to be. You can see they work by the small 'puddle' around the jets but unless the concentrate of liquid is very strong or neat, it freezes in the pipes anyway. Last winter I put in a very very strong concentrate but at -8C, the damn stuff still froze. Heated pipes would be nice Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I've never had heated jets, but the last 2 Freelander 1's, the D2, and a Mondeo all had heated front screens. Which tbh, is the only 'toy' I wish the F2 had, and hasn't. I hope I don't miss it too much, although the 'toys' we've gained should more than outweigh the one we've lost. If we'd bought it new, we would have had the option fitted.

The heated seats didn't work in the D2, and I never remembered to use them in the F1.... Laughing
