Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Indus Silver
Above reverse gear

Hello all,
Not sure if anyone can help, a few years ago I seem to remember our last freelander going back to the dealer to have a part replaced at the gear stick I think, when you change from 4rth to 5th it is quite easy to overshoot and go past 5th to a space above reverse if this makes sense, I seem to remember something about a stopper that had gone but wondering if anyone can tell me what needs replaced Regards

If your talking about the FL2 then theres an electronic lock to stop you over shooting and going in reverse about a certain speed.
Mine had this problem and dealers soted it out.

Hi
Yep its Freelander 2, out of warranty now as 07, is it something you can buy and fit yourself do you know or a dealer only job? Regards

Silly question but has it been working and then one day it stopped. Its quite possible it could be a loose conection or the connector off all together.

not so lucky, just checked, all cables tight in the connector, connector tight, pulled off reconnected and still the same, does anyone know if this is easy to replace?? and what part I need to order, also if I replace do I need to get it put on the computer at Landrover to be reset? Regards
