Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a fast way of selecting the "Home" destination on the factory sat/nav?

From what I can work out, even just choosing the default route, it takes 6 prods at the screen before you're on your way!

Is this correct? It only takes 2 taps on a Tomtom (Navigate to > Home).....

Hopefully somebody can help, because my wife is of the impression that I just spent all that money on the factory sat/nav, which is much worse than something I could get from Argos for a hundred quid!

Show her the different screensavers..........maybe that will help show where the extra money went

Personally I although aftermarket systems have some better functions, i will not buy another as they are what the common thief is looking for now. It may not be on display but they look for the signs that it might be in the car, and then break in just to check, which is not quite that simple with factory fitted unit though.

It may be a few more clicks, but let's now look at the mounting of the holder, the Tom Tom, the connection of the cable, and possibly a receiver etc etc......think i'll stick with the 6 prods thanks

And another factor I really like is the clarity of the voice guidance instructions, and teh fact it allows me to still listen to music at the volume I want, rather than having it super low or off.

The system seems very "aftermarket Japanese", very cluttered screen, definitely a case of flashy design rather than ease of use. I'm surprised at LR choosing this route - even my BMW with the dreaded i-drive is more intuitive...

It certainly isn't the best out there, and probably at the option price could be hard to justify I guess.

I like overly complicated things also so the BMW idrive I love to bits and teh SatNav on the FL2 I think is great

Never come across another NavSat which you can navigate off road with using the compass setting or gives you as the crow flies distance to destination when not on the public highway, then reverts to road distance when you regain the road. I am sure I will have long said goodbye to Emily before she reveals all the nuances of her electronic systems. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

I would think that if someone would steal my LR2 they would click on the home button get to my apartment complex and then after looking round the car park would decide that they could do so much better
