Rubber trim around windows discoloured

I noticed some discolouration on the rubber trim around one of the windows of my brand new Freelander 2 straight from the dealer.

Does anyone know what may have caused this discolouration?

What can be done to get it back to the original colour (black)?

Thanks in advance.

I also had this discolouration on the actual wide rubber window seals, mine was more apparent after washing when the wetness brought out a multi coloured like oil/chemical blemish.
I put 'back to black' on and eventually it disappeared. Is this the blemish you mean?

United Kingdom

various washing products can discolour rubbers

I good clean with a all purpose cleaner might help and then finish of with a rubber trim product such as Auto Glym

Black boot polish works a treat too.
