Anyone in here got a LR2 Sport? - Trim removal?

http://www.gobeyond.se/pictures/22.jpg

Hi guys... A couple of days before I get the paperwork for my GS signed, I get offered a LR2 sport for the same money with less milage, fantastic looking 20" rims and spoiler..

I HATE the sport trim however, and although I can Paint the trim around the doors and back end, I was wondering if its possible to remove the nasty plastic front? I dont think I can get a facelift shipped and painted before my Norway trip and I would just HATE for it to foul up my photos.. Take a look and leave opinions please.

Hi,

Can't comment too much on the trim removal but I agree that the body kit on the one in the photo is pretty ugly! If the front trim is anything like the standard bumper it will come off quite easily, you could then fit a facelifted front end but you then have the cost of sourcing and painting one.

The wheels on the other hand are very smart. You could, of course, go with the GS and fit rear spoiler and 19" wheels but this will obviously be costly.

Difficult decision! Good luck. Thumbs Up 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

If it is like the HST trim fitted on the older models which I suspect it is, the trim will be held on with 3m tape, hair dryer and some strong monofilament from a fisherman will be all you need along with some sticky remover, Acetate (nail varnish remover) for any residue.remaining.

thanks guys, its D-Day tomorrow to speak to them all and give them the last chance to get their offers in, playing one off the other... Its shocking that the prices are so insane over here.. I am looking at around 23 grand for a 2010 with between 28000 and 40000 miles on the clock in GS spec Big Cry

The wife came home today with a brochure and a print out from a dealer with a 3 grand discount on a brand new Qashqai 4x4 diesel with top spec (impressive 360 degree camera jobby though) and started laying on the pressure which isnt helping Sheep

actually, it doesnt, 3 year extended warranty extended to 6 isnt bad, and the gearstick isnt at the hip... and it doesnt drink as much diesel... and there is really nice feedback in the steering wheel... and the panoramic roof is amazing.. but somehow, it just doesnt pull my heartstrings like the LR2 does...

Tomorrow I will be Rolling with laughter or Big Cry Smile

It's just to face the fact: when you're in a Qashqai, you'll see thirteen on the dozen in traffic. Nothing special about it...

In a LandRover Freelander 2 you will notice all other Landies around (ALL models...) and you will almost "nod" and greet the others.

But maybe you should listen to your wife, and be practical about buying your next car.

BTW, that trim does look hideous.... It's never too late to learn something new...

Bah!, thats not the talk of a LR owner!, give in to the sensible choice - Never!

Picked up a 2010 GS in silver today with factory tint, xenon and crap stereo : ) Nice to own a Landrover again!, in 3 weeks it will be sitting below a glacier in Norway having fun!
