Gite rental needed in La Tremblade / La Palmyre France (Aug)

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have any contacts for Gite / Lodge / Mobile Home rental in this area (which is mid-west France)? We're planning to spend a week there in early August (4th-11th approx) and need a two bedroom Gite/lodge/cabin for 2 adults and 2 children.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

James Thumbs Up

1: This may or may not meet your family's requirements: Passiflora Villa - St. SauvierD'Aunis

This is not a Gité, neither is it in the two coast villages you mentioned but it is only 20kms west of La Rochelle in very beautiful surroundings, lots of things to do and close enough to get to the sea. It is a dream of a place to stay, women love the place - believe me Wink

But, I've never been there with kids. However the owners are very helpful/friendly. I checked this lunchtime and they do have availability: http://www.passifloravilla.fr/en/welcome.html

2: Failing that, I have always used this search engine for Gités - it's French, but there is an English option tab top left:

Hope you do find something appropriate - happy holidays Very Happy

Athelstan,

Apologies for not responding sooner! Embarassed The first link looked fantastic, however I didn't think that the other guests would appreciate my 5 and 7 year olds tearing around!!

We have just sent off a cheque to rent a privately owned chalet/lodge on a camp site in La Tremblade. It would seem to tick all of the boxes as there are pools, water slides, tennis courts etc and it is only 500m from the beach through the forest. Ironically I camped there with my parents at the age of 11 back in 1985, therefore I am looking forward to revisiting my yooff!! In a moment of madness I ordered a Liber-t Sanef Toll Tag, so looking forward to seeing if it will help my passage through the busy tolls on the Autoroutes!

Many thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
