Fellas my first service is due on my Freelander, Harwoods Basingstoke want £382 however service4service.co.uk quote £282, guarantee to use genuine parts and state that the Warranty will be protected. Have any of you used them before, would you use them against the 'Stealers' high prices?

M J Fews at Charfield near Wootton Under edge are doing 20% off service for the month of June. Probably an hour or so from you but they do supply a courtesy car. Just had my 3year service done at £270.

£270 is very good, is that with your MOT included ?

I think 'asinrute' may mean this site http://www.maindealerdiscount.com/
I punched in my details and it came up:
Guy Salmon at Bristol, 233 miles away for a saving of £18 Shocked Laughing Obviously if there is a dealer signed up to this scheme near you then there could be a saving to make, but its fairly thin on the ground at the moment.

I was enquiring about Landrover Extended Warranty, at my local dealers yesterday. When I asked about the Corrosion Protection Warranty I was told that as my Freelander had not been serviced by a main dealer this cover does not apply! Both now and during any extended warranty. Sad
Is this true, does anyone have any experiance of this?

true, you can of course get it serviced elsewhere then send it to LR for a paint/body check. this is how they 'promote' dealer servicing At work

Anyone ever used blackcircles.com for servicing their FL2?
I'm looking at 4th year service (85k miles).
I've done it for an old Audi and blackcircles basically provide the oils and filters etc and the garage does the rest.

Quoted price on their website is £142.88 which is exceptional cheap!

Basically a service consists of oil, filter(s) and uummmhhhh checks Neutral so labour and marked up parts prices is the killer with dealers. Blackcircles pricing seems about right and will do no less than a dealer but, allowing yourself to become a stranger to a dealer can be disastrous if anything major happens and you need their help.

Unfortunately it pays to be on 'nodding' terms with a dealer or independent to go forward, or for them to show any interest if bad luck strikes your vehicle.

Had my service completed by Harwoods yesterday. Car came back clean and tidy for £290. Asked about non dealer servicing and they said it is fine as long as genuine parts and service schedule are used, they did say that they will price match though.

I asked about an update for the satnav and they said that you have to buy a disc which costs approx £150, once I had stopped laughing I told them exactly what I thought - robbing bar stewards.

All I have to do is drive from Cumbria to Bristol and back

Have to say i stuck my neck out, could not bring myself to pay £375 to my main dealer for and oil change and filter, they did say they would reduce that to £275 when i questioned their sanity but the quote for £165 from my local independent did it for me, they work under the scheme that guarantees the warranty and use genuine parts and Mobil1 engine oil.
Main stealers cannot justify these prices they quote and as long as we keep on paying them they will just keep hiking them up.
If you are going to justify paying these prices because of the value of you FL, then £500 appears to be good value, but would you pay it? and how high would you go.
