Sounds a reasonable offer - you are talking way over 50% residual at three years let alone 2.5yrs... And it is summer!

If you. An find the money I would do it... Newer car, warranty and the knowledge that your new car hasn't fallen off a ramp!! Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

How can you be 100% certain of this????

I was once parked at my local T0Y0T4 dealership, just about to drive away, when i witnessed a car being reversed off a transporter - he did this with great proficiency - but then he drove forward turned and took the front passenger wing nearly completely off - dented - scraped - and generally not in from the factory *new* condition - jumped out 'swore a lot' jumped in and drove it straight into the body shop area - and that was the last I saw of it Whistle

I bet 100% the new 'owner' wasn't told they had done a pre-delivery repair to the 'brand new' vehicle.... Confused 2002 Honda VFR800

Holy Cr Censored p - people pay that much for a three yr old RRS? Embarassed

That said the one in the advert is only a smidge over 2yrs old and has less mileage..

Lots of V8s for that kind of money!!

31K maybe a bit cheeky - but then it is damaged Whistle

In all seriousness, I dont envy you, this sounds like a horrible situation. If the dealer is offering to buy your car back then if not more part x I would want a very good deal on a new or nearly new car... Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Thanks to everyone for the replies Bow down

Looks as though I am not going to get a good deal to change so I will have to wait a bit longer for a Full Fat - the revised model next year is looking really tempting Big Cry

Dealer offering to repair, give 2 years extended LR Approved Warranty and no charge for the service last week that brought me to this point Rolling Eyes

Thinking my best option is to keep RRS for a bit longer and try to sell privately - maybe this winter or next and try and get a nearly new Westminster or wait for the new RRS/RR models to filter through Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I had always planned to own this RRS for 5 years - the extended warranty makes it easier to swallow after what happened last week Sad

As you can see from my sig I have been changing frequently but this time I thought spend a bit more, get a better car, keep it longer and it would work out same money - how wrong can you be Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I struggle to keep cars much longer than 2yrs. I always go with the intent that I shall keep it longer but I always get an itch.

Up to now the Freelander is promising to beat the 2yr itch, although I am already starting to think about other cars

I dont know what it is but there is always a niggling reason or man maths that I end up justifying a changing.

My last car ended up with a SMART repair following some pore parking Whistle and this gave me good enough reason to shift it - that and the fact I could not get all three kids in the back Big Cry .

I do keep trying to tell myself that there is nothing wrong with the car I have and if it is not costing me money then it should be a keeper. I guess the thing is are you happy with the RRS and does it make you smile when you drive it?

I bet if like me, despite your decision to keep the RRS, you will accept the warranty, keep the car for 6months and then start looking Thumbs Up Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints
