Perfectly normal. It is the ABS kicking in indapendantly on each wheel as it slows down the car.. Don't worry and enjoy Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints |

Fully agree, normal operation, and very effective it is too. |

Yeah thanks egipp. I did a bit of mild off-roading at the same time and even with worn out Wranglers, the car handled very well. I'm getting some AT tyres this week so that should make things a bit more interesting. I guess you've seen this video which makes the FL2 look pretty unstoppable.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq0L1ef_8Bg I was impressed and I used to own a Disco 1. 2007 FL2 TD4 SE Auto, Alaska White with Black Leather, Cooper A/T3 tyres. |

Indeed, Yes! I'm not a full off roader in as much as I don't drive off just to go through mud or over rocks, but we do like getting out into the bush and visiting remote places, which has given us some entertaining moments over deep ruts and steep slopes, deep mud and the odd creek crossing. I have to say that my nerve gives up before the car even seems to mind what it's doing. My aim, so far achieved, is to get where we want to - and back - without grounding or in any way damaging the car. For that, the Freelander deserves top marks, taking us in great security and comfort. It's such a good all rounder.

Sorry for the delayed reply, Graham, just noticed your post. I certainly know what you mean, I've had a few exciting moments in my 4WD life, in fact more exciting than flying! There are some awesome tracks around Eastern Vic, which I went on with the Range Rover club a few years ago (and survived). Still, like you, I'm more wary of damaging the car now than I was a few years ago. I'm getting a set of Cooper AT3s tomorrow which should make for better off-roading. There are a few good tracks around the Noosa hinterland and Cooloola which I want to try out.
