Has anyone heard of or used NANKANG tyres?

I need new tyres 235/55r19 and I can get these for £120 each, appears to be a large Tawaniese manufacturer.

Any info or views appreciated cheers

You have a £30k car and are happy with £480 worth of Tiawanese recycled wheelbarrow tyre between you and the road, not for me, I'm afraid.

Still thinking, despite the value of the car £220 per tyre seems excessive. But saying that had 26,000+ out on the standard continentals, so will have to think long and hard, money isn't very free lowing at the mo!

Seems about the same as I got from the continental,s I had on my first Fl2 xs,
worked out at 0.0084615pence per mile per Tyre

Cost me £760 for 4 General Grabber,s Christmas last,
(£190 per Tyre)so if I get 26000 out of them it will work out at 0.0073076 pence fer mile seems good to me ..

I tried all the mufti-nationals locally but got the best deal from a well known local independent

All the mufti-nationals wanted to do was to sell me the Tyre that they could make the most money on
They did not listen to what I wanted if they did they then priced it over the top.
The local guy rang round found what I wanted at a good price and had them in 24 hrs fitted ..!(general grabber at,s 235/65/17 )
he is always busy and has 6 + fitters working 6 days a week and taken 2 more on I wonder why ???

IMHO, the premium brands are a rip-off. On my previous car (Jag), I replaced all four Pirelli P Zeros with Kwik Fit's own brand tyres and found performance exactly same, but less road noise. Having just Googled Nankang, I see they are widely available in the US. If they were poor performers, they be sued out of existence in the US so they can't be bad. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Nankang tyres certainly have their uses. It's the sort of tyre that's often fitted by a dealer where a new tyre or two is needed to bring a car up to standard at the lowest possible cost before resale. They are definitely something that's worth looking out for on a prospective used car purchase as they are often a warning sign of a car that's been maintained on a shoestring, especially if there's a mixture of brands all of which were sold on price.

Although the following tyre test does not include Nankang, this is an interesting review of budget tyres Vs premium ones and is particularly useful for those that think that, just because they are black and round, they must be the equal of all other tyres:

Even my last contract hire company, who were the meanest one I have ever dealt with (they would no longer pay for the dealer servicing, that they were contracted to provide, but insisted that I took my V70 to Kwik Fit for servicing & repair ), would only provide Michelin tyres as replacements.

Still lookig for best tyre option has anyone got the GRABBER UHP on a Freelander 2 and used them through winter and summer?

Not sure if to stick with pirelli Scorpion or go to goodyear Wrnglers or maybe even Wintrac Extreme and use all year !!!!

Costco currently have 20% off Michelin tyres, put Diamaris on our Freelander last year worked out at just over 150ukp each
